Teens have Lots of Choices to Make. Here’s How They Can Make the Best Ones.

Here are a few examples of choices that teens ponder over:

  • Take this course or that one? Stay home and study….or….go out with my friends?
  • Continue a friendship or not? If not, how can I convey my choice respectfully vs fear retaliation?
  • Follow the crowd and ‘do’ drugs…or…be true to one’s values of not doing drugs and face ridicule?
  • Report the wrongdoing of a friend…or….remain silent to stay friends?
  • Accept social invitations involving alcohol, drugs at unsupervised gatherings…or…say ‘no’a/
  • How to manage my time best between studying, school commitments, family, friends, and possibly a part-time job?
  • And, most important, do I go to college…or…’just get a job’ that may only pay minimum wage?

The quote ‘Teenagers like to be different…just like everyone else’ illustrates how teenagers seek to be unique and different in some ways and, yet, want to fit in and be liked by their friends.

Is your teenager making the best choices possible?

All these situations create dilemmas for teenagers. There are many times they need to make a choice that is different from what others may want them to do.

Making the best choice possible is important because, sometimes, it may alter a teen’s life permanently and they can make the best choice possible when they use the simple steps in our Success by C.H.O.I.C.E. program.

A wonderful feature of this program is the key components of it can be added to existing programs to unite efforts between schools and educational agencies that help teenagers learn lifelong skills.

The pictures below are of one of my Success by C.H.O.I.C.E programs for teens. They loved all the activities…most of all, the role plays!
